As one of the moms in our Facebook group aptly said.
The passing of Sinhead O'Conner has truly shaken our community. She was a fellow grieving mother who tragically lost her son Shane on January 7, 2022. It hits close to home for all of us.
The pain of losing a child is something we all know too well. It's a devastating journey, and at times, we can feel trapped in a never-ending cycle of pain and depression. I've been there myself, feeling completely defeated and hopeless after losing Dakota. I even contemplated ending my own life just to escape the unbearable pain. And I know I'm not alone in experiencing such thoughts.
In my darkest moment, something inside me urged me to return to a yoga practice. I started with just 10 minutes a day because that was all I could handle. Those little steps made a difference, and now I've created many 10-minute yoga videos for others, hoping they too can find a path to healing, no matter how long and challenging it may be.
I urge you to choose life, as difficult as it may seem. Each one of us has a purpose here. If you ever feel like giving up, please don't hesitate to reach out to me or another mother in our community, or anyone else in your circle who can lend a listening ear.
I've decided to embrace the light of Dakota's life rather than dwell in the shadows of her death. And I encourage you to dig deep within yourself to find a glimmer of hope amidst the nightmare of grief. Let's support each other on this journey, for together, we can turn our pain into hope.
PLEASE CHECK IN ON GRIEVING MOMS. OUR PAIN IS HUGE.
