The crack in the door
Ramblings of a grieving mom

So it's another New Year, and another year we go forward without our child/children. It sucks, I know, I miss Dakota terribly.
The other day in a yoga class, I was right up front facing the giant wooden door. When I looked at it, it looked like there was a line of gold on it, which made me smile. When I looked closer, it was just a crack in the wood that let the light in.
Isn't that a bit like life? It's our perspective on things that dictates how we walk through this world. As bereaved moms, there is very little we can do, except to learn to live with the pain, and grow stronger or weaker.. We can become better or bitter. I choose to become better. I want Dakota and my other daughters to be proud of me. That is why I do what I do.
Yoga has helped me so much, not just with the physical pain that comes with grief, but also with my soul. I pray on my mat, and often feel a connection to Dakota.
