The Measure of Success
My grief journey
11/8/20232 min read
I recently returned from my Radiant Renewal Retreat, and I am elated at how well I believe it turned out. We bonded and everyone got along so well, we became Sister Queens!
I made my living daughters proud of me. I know for sure that Dakota was with me there at the retreat, and was certainly proud of me.
We all celebrated our lost loved ones. I have lost so many people that for this year I decided just to have Dakota on the Day of the Dead altar which we set up in the yoga room. She is the inspiration for my doing this business. (Next year I will have photos of all of them.)
Moni came and helped us set up the Altar, which was so interesting, she explained everything to us. She also said that if we are continually sad and crying, it is like having a chain on our loved ones, holding them back. I released Dakota so she can go on to do what she needs to do on the other side, and will welcome her back at the same time next year. I will continue to mourn my loss, but know she is safely with Jesus. My heart still hurts, I am still gutted, as I will always be, but I feel a bit lighter now.
I paid my University of Life fees on my 1st retreat. Casa Om can sleep 24 people, and we were only 5 on the busiest day. but I learned so much and achieved one very important goal, my family being proud of me. I achieved what I set out to do and that is my measure of success.
I was able to share most of what I have used in my healing journey. The ladies seem to receive everything well, going by my 1st review. It was a very special time of honoring our loved ones, doing yoga, Sister/Grief Circles and having dance parties. Overall, I feel it was a great success. I am so thankful for all the ladies that supported me, by coming to the retreat, trusting me enough to invest in my business, and also for the love and support I received from friends and family.
The location was perfect, the weather was good most of the days, the food was exquisite. The ladies all agreed that they would be willing to pay more if they came again, just to keep the numbers down to 10. With this in mind, I will be opening the bookings for 2024 soon (end of Oct to early Nov). You can get on the waitlist here. The venue will only be booked on the number of confirmed bookings and deposits I have.
I have some more exciting news to share, but that can wait till next week. Please if you want to sign up for my newsletter, subscribe here and I will send you a free ebook on Yin Yoga for Grief. Follow me on Instagram or Facebook to see all of the photos. If you want free yoga, please subscribe for my youtube channel.
